Wheel cleaner: are they really worth the money??

That is the exact process that I follow and it cleans up great with just car wash soap and water....plus it is cool to see the water bead up on your wheels!

Just used Meguiars Hot Rims All Wheels Cleaner ($5 from WM) on a used TSX wheel that I picked-up for a co-worker. The product dissolved most of the dirt - even the 4 yr old dirt on the inside of the wheel, with little agitation.

Excellent product for the money.

I would argue that P21S Gel Wheel Cleaner is among the best you can buy, perhaps even better than Sonax. It isn't cheap but it's very strong yet gentle at the same time when you've got a tough cleaning to do.
