A 130 amp 110v unit will weld 1/8" and even 1/4" if you bevel.
The duty cycle will be shorter and may need multiple passes but the weld will be good and strong.
The 110v units are fine for automotive and light work.
Flux core welds are pretty messy.
Honestly most people who do automotive work over buy on the welders power. There is nothing on today's cars that needs real high amps, you end up just blowing holes all over the place. On their lowest settings the large ones are stronger than the little guys on its lowest.
I have a 220v Hobart 250 amp and a Hobart 110v 140 amp. The little Hobart is the machine i use most on cars.
