You don't see these two together very often. (Well, I do, because they live in the neighbourhood.) I don't think either vehicle has moved in years.
These Lada Cossack 4x4s were quite popular here at one time. They were thought to be quite rugged. The late, great, short-lived CARMAG (a Canadian publication) did a road test on one in '82, and loved it, although they mentioned, as a bit of an afterthought, that it was doing 4500 RPM at 80 kph.
I worked on my friend's '81 Lada Signet 1500 sedan back in '86, and was surprised at how cheap the parts were - $2 for a valve-cover gasket, if I recall correctly.
Motor Sales, a long-gone import dealer that specialized in British cars, sold these for a few years.
The big Mazda dealer here sold them for a short time until Mazda made them choose one or the other.
Peugots were sold here in the '80s by Chrysler dealers. I don't know whether Chrysler and Peugot had any sort of formal alliance. They are very rare now. Maybe Stellantis will bring Peugots over here again.
