The continuation of being dumped on in Restaurants needs to end.

HUH? Where? Most state governors don't make that much. No cop on a state salary is going to make more.
Seems possible in certain areas. Typically it has more to do with them earning OT hours/details than regular salary. A typical move for pension is earn like crazy last two years as average of two x % (50-60%) is paid out for lifetime .

Yeah, with OT, often mandated due to staffing shortages, easily possible in higher wage areas.
Heck, at our place a lot of the hourly pull down an easy hundred grand with moderate OT.
You trade hours of leisure for income and many people find this worthwhile, especially younger employees.

In Highland Park, IL, three park district workers were making over 300k a year. When it was discovered, the park district workers retired at over 200k per year.

Some amazing money and pensions can be made in non elected public positions.

All kidding aside they said Baywatch should be on paywatch….LA County lifeguards topping $500k with overtime. Truth be told if it’s money a person wants, this is the country to be in. It’s all relative. There are people all of us encounter every single day who don’t feel these amounts are a lot relative to their lifestyles. Many times they are business owners and they have taken lots of risk to get to where they are (imagine 2020).

Ps I know someone who lives in Highland Park. I recall a tragedy there in 2022 that she spoke of. She is a business owner and does well, it’s a nice area

Highland Park, Illinois is in Cook County. Same as Chicago. It is one of the heaviest taxed areas in the country. Property taxes are insane. The only thing more insane, is how they waste it every year.

The infrastructure is falling apart, but every year they cry there is no money to fix it. The roads and bridges are all in disrepair. Because they are overpaying people who perform basic city services. Taxes to support ridiculous teacher, police, and fire dept. pension funds, are sucking the finances of that county dry.

The taxes were insane when I moved out of there 33 years ago. They've only gotten worse every year since. This can't continue. Sooner or later the rubberband is going to break.

The wealthy are fleeing New York. The same is going to happen in the Chicago area. And all of them take their money when they go.
