It's a nice little unit and build be great for just about everything they just struggle when you want to sandblast with it 5hp will run out of steam.

No as soon as it's on the pump it's over and that's within a minute on the tank 7.5 hp or 10 hp min that's for residential DIY. Commercial I'd be at 30HP to50 min.

I have a 5hp QT-5 and occasionally sand blast with it. It will keep up but its runs more than not and gets really warm. I have to stop and let everything cool off after awhile. Wish mine had the big after cooler like the max series does. If you were going to be sand blasting all the time I'd say 7.5hp would be the minimum size to have. That and a good air dryer.

At any rate you can't go wrong with a quincy compressor in my opinion.
