Only Fram knows. and it most likely it varies by buyer, with WalMart providing the lowest margin due to their volume.

No, apparently steveh knows. I'm curious to know as well.
 
steveh doesn't know, but he's making an educated guess. And he's probably right. Items built to a price point (low) are generally less profitable than more expensive versions with added features. Cars, trucks, appliances, clothing, cosmetics and many other things....this almost always holds true.
 
It looks like FRAM has the OCOD value engineered right down to a cost of less than a $1 a piece.

If you add in the cost of the box, that could creep up to one US dollar even.
