I was cleaning up my workshop last night and ran across this unused L14612 that I had left over from the old Subaru I traded in. With no reason to use it, I grabbed my hacksaw and cut it open. This is my first filter dissection! See below:
Here is the filter assembled:
All the pieces. The nitrile ADV was nice and flexible. Also, the outer can was fairly thick and difficult to crush.
I was impressed with the filter element. All the folds were uniform, the metal crimp was solid, and the glue was even with no high, low or missing areas.
I was impressed with this filter, especially considering the $3 it cost me at Wally World.
