Couple weeks ago changed out the last of the 5w30 summer oil gotten on sale, and put in 4 1/2 quarts Amsoil 0w30 with an Amsoil filter. Good till next Fall at least.
1993 yota 4x4 22RE engine, Pennzoil PUP 10W30 + yota OEM filter. Will change oil again in 2 months with probably a couple hundred miles since I just replaced the timing chain, oil pump, water pump etc. Truck has 156K+ miles and friend said head, pistons and valves looked amazingly clean. I change oil every 5,000 miles with Mobil 1. I tried Amsoil a few times but went back to Mobil 1.
Out: Toyota 0w20, Toyota filter, 6012 miles
In: Mobil 1 0w20, Toyota filter
I normally change at 10k, but I have not been driving as much recently and most of the driving has been comprised of short trips. The oil was pretty dirty and was 1/3 qt low, so I decided to change it early.
Oil was run from 4/17/14-10/27/14
Not that many miles, since younger son who drives this old dear is only buying ~20 gallons each month, which isn't a lot of miles in an old Subie. Back and forth to his work mostly.
