Changed oil for my uncle last week...

2006 Ford F150 4x4 5.4 3V - 78,500 miles
Pennzoil Ultra 5W-20
Motorcraft FL-820S

A lightly-sludged/heavily-varnished 5.4 with a little low rpm VCT rattle, so I am interested how PU will clean here. A good test for the "Hyper Cleansing Technology".

I will say the oil looked a lot dirtier in 30 miles than PU looks in my F150 after 1000 miles.

Time will tell. I am more and more impressed as my valve cover coating is melting down. (This being a black paint like varnish).

With over 81,000 views this should be a sticky.......It would make this thread easier to find also.....

Shell Rotella T6 5w40 with QS oil filter.

Another Oil change...Now on Maxlife 10w40

1998 Ford explorer XLT 4.0 SOHC (2000mi since last change)
125,000 miles P1 3001 filter

Seems to like the 10w40 WAY more than the 5w30 PYB. Much quieter on start-up and during operation.

was 5w30 PYB plus Auto RX.

With this fill it's making a "worble" type of noise.. never heard it with the previous fill ST 10w40 and 1 quart MMO. Not sure what to think.

Yesterday - 2003 KLR650 with 4,800 miles. Switched oil out from Kendall "thumper oil" to Castrol Syntec 20w50 "muscle car" synthetic oil. KLR's shear the heck out of oil from what I've read on the KLR650.net website and this oil is well though of for these bikes. I guess the high amounts of shearing are due to oil going through the clutch, transmission, ball bearings, roller bearings.

Changed oil filter to one made in UK that's supposed to be pretty good: "Hi Flo Filtro" Sounds hokey to me, but supposed to be good.

And yup, it took 2.5 liters of oil right on the money.

The "doohickey" in this bike has already been updated. These get spring adjusted at every oil change, so I pulled the rubber plug and did that, too.

This was the first OCI I've done on the bike. Printed the torques off the KLR650 site and used an inch pounds torque wrench on everything.

The job was a little messy. Live and learn - I'll do better next time.
