Post your latest oil change

Bought the Royal Purple oil change deal @ Pepboys, 1st time using RP.

2005 Taurus 3.0 U

RP filter.. #20-400
5W-20 RP oil.
Engine has 63,000 miles.

Previous oil was Castrol Edge w/t, gold bottle, 5W-30.

I have switched back & forth from 20W & 30w, and have experienced no difference for the most part.

2008 Acura TSX 5AT

Out: Pennzoil 5w30, Mighty oil Filter, about 5k and 15% remaining on Maint. Minder.

In: Valvoline Nextgen 5w30, Microgard MGL7317 Filter.

Also did a 3qt drain and refill of the transaxle with Honda ATF DW-1 fluid.

51,434 miles.

Last week my Subie got a headgasket repair, upon completion, the oil was changed.

Out: Mobil 1 5w-30 SN

In: Mobil 1 5w30 SN, M1 Filter, 4 quarts.

I had just over 5000 miles on the oil.

Saturday I put in 95 Altima PYB 10w40. However, after about 80 miles on it, Sunday morning, I noticed the PYB was leaking bad. I thought I could go back to a non-high mileage being a 10w40.

Nope.

Therefore, I swapped it again today. Valvoline NextGen MAXLife 10w40. We shall see how it holds up (fingers crossed). If it does well, I will try to slowly step down grades maybe.

Both times I used Bosch 3400 Oil Filter.

I can't believe that a high mileage oil makes THAT much difference that after just a few miles it starts leaking again on a non-high mileage.

The previous oil was Chevron Supreme High Mileage.

Did two today:

1) 1996 Camaro (3800 V6): Changed out 10w30 Mobil Super 5000 with Microgard filter with same oil & Purolator Classic filter. Only put 400 miles on this OCI as it was put in right after a LIM/UIM gasket change.

2) 1993 Saturn SL2: Changed out 5w30 Supertech with PureOne filter with 5w30 Mobil Super 5000 & PureOne filter. No idea on the mileage (+/- 2,000 miles) and one year. This Saturn leaks/burns so much oil that a quart of fresh oil is dumped in every few months.

Did one on my lunch break for my sister in law.

2004 Jeep Cherokee

Out Nextgen 5w30 and Fram OCOD

in

G-Oil 5w30 and Purolator Classic.

2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee 93k.

Out - PYB 5w30 w/Pure One

In - Valvoline Maxlife SM blend, 5 quarts 5w30, 1 quart 10w40, .25 quart 10w30 (top off due to oversize filter) and Motorcraft FL-1A.

7Qts of Pennzoil HM 10w30. Motorcraft filter
77 IH Scout. miles unkown.

2001 PT Cruiser
5Qts Pennz HM 5w30 driveworks filter
80k miles

My 2011 Toyota 4Runner, at 20,000 miles at standard OCI of 10k miles. Used 6 qts of Mobil 1 0W20, and a new Toyota filter.

Made a discovery: The yokel who changed the oil last used the oil filter housing drain plug to screw down the oil filter housing. Taking that off without being able to drain it == one big giant mess. That'll be an interesting discussion with the stealership's service manager.

2012 subaru outback, 3000 miles:

1 quart 5w30 mobil 1 synthetic
3 quarts 5w30 vavoline
purolator classic filter

rotating out old stock, probably about 4 year old oil. i get free oil changes until 24k miles, but the first one isnt until 7500 miles and i wanted to dump the factory fill.

Kendall 5w30 semi-synthetic , Baldwin B1400 in my 1990 Mazda b2200 , I am brand loyal to both. Not that i think they are "the best " just what i grew up using .
