Post a photo of your oil on dipstick (with miles)

How exciting is this! Stupid!
For some of us very exciting and something to look forward to, sharing with other like minded members. With over 3100 posts there must be some excitement or at least interest for you. Stupid? Maybe. Crazy? Probably.

I texted my daughter at 12:30am last weekend knowing she was awake and had boiler/hot water issues. I said "I'm thinking about the boiler", she replied "that's weird, it's Saturday night, get a hobby :ROFLMAO: ". She knows car forums, cars, house things are my hobbies.

PP 5W-20 and HPL EC30
500 miles on the oil
178k on the motor. 2.0L in a 2010 Kia Forte.

Ford Maverick Hybrid 17,200 total miles 5100 on current OCI
Has used no oil. I choose to only put 5.5 qts in, instead of 5.7 qts hence it never hits the top of the crosshatch. Mobil 1 Frankenblend.
With what you put in that's what 0W-24? Or is that the Mobil 1 Goldilocks version....that one is too thick, that one is too thin, this one is just BITOG'n right. :ROFLMAO:(y)

And it looks a WHOLE LOT better than the 17k engine, 5k oil that was on the dipstick of the Tucson.

Funny, 0W-24 was what I was shooting for. Still a bit thin for the Thickies here. I have a second run of this going in at 20K on the odometer. When the second fill comes out, I'll send it for a UOA. Have a Wix left if I can find it.

Been a little colder but no dilution so far. PP 0W20 is up next for the winter season to stay in front of potential dilution. I use it periodically and haven’t notice a difference or any loss in MPG. This Toyota A25A really doesn’t seem the care what oil is put in it. Must’ve been made on a Friday before the holiday weekend and missed calibration. 😉

Yes you could likely go to 5W-30 and not see a real difference in your MPG.

Peugeot 306 HDi Diesel Engine.
Recent oil change (200 miles prior to this pic) with Mobil 1 0w40.
Pleased with this, as most diesels go black pretty much as soon as you change the oil.

*Edit* - It looks overfilled but that was because I'd put the dipstick back in and out and it had pushed the oil up the stick. It was perfect when I first removed it.

I'm cringing at the dirt. Simple Green and hose would do wonders, please for the love of god/cars/whatever.

1100kms on Valvoline FE 5W30 (FORD 913D) on my lpg converted 2005 Ford Fiesta. Posting again because the first time the oil looked invisible because of being hot and super clean. This time took the photos with the engine cold. Engine is original, 256000kms and uses less than 500ml of oil during the 20K OCI

The oil in my 2011 Tacoma turns dark after about 100 miles, and is jet black after 5k. I’m not particularly worried.

2003 accord 2.4l. 171,554 miles
1,554 miles on the oil
4 quarts valvoline restore&protect with 1 quart HPL EC30 through a fram endurance FE7317

car used to burn oil like crazy. could top off and drive across town and it would be at the low dot by that time. since then it has had two EPR 20 minute flushes at the end of two OCI’s and a berrymans hot piston soak.
