I can not find the specification about Acdelco PF47 and PF52. But I found the WIX's
51040 (PF47) Nominal 19 micron, Beta 2/20=15/31
51036 (PF52) Nominal 25 Micron, Beta 2/20=12/26

19 and 25, Which one has the better filtration? Do PF47 and PF52 also have different filtration or the same?
Thanks.

In the Wix the 51036 is the better of the two.

The 15/31 is not as good as the 12/26. These are the multipass tests.

1/2 of the 12um and larger particles were filtered
19/20 of the 26um and larger particles were filtered.

..and the difference may be attributed to the difference in length

Thanks.
One more question please. I have a 2006 Chevy Malibu 3.5 V6.
It calls PF47. The filter is vertical. People here said that ADBV filters are not good for vertical mounting. What is ADBV filter? How can I know if it's a ADBV filter? Is PPF52 better than PF47 for my car? I'm using full synthetic ooil for 5k miles.

Well, leshan, I think that people say that Anti-DrainBack-Valve(d) filters are not necessary in vertical mount situations. Many don't require it ..but it's not a given. "It depends" (you'll hear that a lot around here- at least from me). Your engine specifies a filter with an ADBV ..both those cross referenced to Wix have that ADBV. That would lead me to believe that there is a decent amount of oil cached in the engine above/beyond the filter that would drain back through the filter upon shut down. Engines that "drain forward", so to speak, or don't have a whole lot of space to cache oil ..or won't siphon when shut off ..don't need them

What is ADBV filter?

Acronym for Anti-Drain Back Valve

Stops the oil from reversing when the engine shuts down. Keeps oil in filter to prevent dry starts. Liquids will seek the lowest level meaning the oil will all drain back or be siphoned back to the pan and the filter will be empty next time the engine starts. There no reason I can think to not want that in your oil filter.

If you visit the Wix site, they have an excellent Flash the shows all the working parts of the oil filter.
