I am fairly sure that Conoco Phillips manufacures Motorcraft oil.Would ther be any issues with running it in my 2007 GMC Sierra with the 4.8l? I am still under the powertrain warranty. Thanks for any replies!

I don't think there would be an issue with even any dino 5W30 SM oil. It's my understanding CP supplies Motorcraft but the synthetic base is refined in Korea. Not really sure about that but I usually go with other brands.

Technically your truck needs the GM 6094M certification, which I doubt the MC has. But it's a very easy standard to meet, so it almost certainly meets it in actuality. It just wouldn't make sense for Ford oil to get a GM cert.

All kidding aside, I think it would suit you well.

I would have to agree . This should be a sticky.

Not if The Traveller or Tin Man got involved..........

Some would say MC oil in a GM would be the best part in the truck.... Seriously, If you are under warranty, why tempt fate? Phillips 66 and Kendall are most likely the same product, are available, and have the GM certification. Any of these 3 oils will be fine, but as stated, the MC won't have GM certs.
