had a FE292 filter for a 3.9L motor.it has 8 holes, and a bypass valve. newer one is part # 0FE00292. i see no bypass valve, & it has 6 holes, and what appears to be a spring just inside the large center threaded hole. as well, it's 1/8" - 3/16" taller than the old one. C2 is stamped between two of the small holes. i'm assuming that mopar changed vendors. is anyone aware of the newer vendor, and the quality of the newer one. thank you.

I'll speculate that it's a Champ Lab offering. If you put the old number into their xref you get PH253 ..which, in whatever internal notation they use, is a C1 filter "style". One can imagine that the reissued number could be a "C2"
