New finding in Europe: "Mobil 1 Peak Life 5W-50" is now "Mobil 1 FS X1 5W-50".
Specifications for the new Mobil 1 FS X1 5W-50:
- Meets requirements: ACEA A3/B3, A3/B4; API SN/SM
- Approved: MB-Approval 229.3/229.1; Porsche A40
- Viscosity @ 40C = 101
- Flash Point = 239C
- Pour Point = -45C
- Density @15C = 0.85
I can’t find any other specifications from the internet for the new oil, so all the most interesting parameters (Viscosity index, HTHS, MRV etc.) are currently missing.
One interesting detail is that FS X1 is advertised for higher mileage vehicles: "Mobil 1 FS x1 5W-50 is recommended for many types of vehicles with higher mileage; > 100 000 km". This wasn't the case with Peak Life.

So, why the change? And is it good or bad... or doesn’t matter?
