Hmmm, are you sure they're V4s and not V2s? I have the V2s on my Matrix and like them. Better grip now than when they were new. I have about 16k on them.

Yes.....they're the V4 ES model of the Ventus line...pull-offs I got off Craigslist and ebay: $75ea. mounted/balanced OTD...

...3 of the 5 are 18 months old, the other two are 3 years old...but all have 8+/32" tread down from 11/32....just broken in...as you say...likely better gripping now than when new...
