PP will work great in the H6. I have seen very little visc change in PP on hundreds of UOAs posted here. There are exceptions, but they are usually a result of mechanical issues (coolant leak, etc).

Depends on vehicle. Only oil that did not work well in my old Land Rover was Formula Shell. It burned off a quart at 2x the rate as with any other oil I put in. That said, lots of people have had much success with it.

Note how conditional your answer is, including the "is rated for their car"

There is a fair amount of non SJ/SM oil floating out there, such as "Valuecraft" oil at autozone, and nameless bulk oil that comes out of the nozzles at quick lube places (including the nozzles marked "blend" and "full synthetic").

There is also the evil non-detergent oil sold at Autozone under the "valuecraft" name which is conveniently labeled "Not for use in engines manufactured after 1930". Tis very cheap though at about $2.19/qt.

The problem of [censored] oil, and fraud has also provoked SOPUS into action to ensure brand integrity.

Valuecraft oil is SL-rated, which I would hardly call "bad." I wouldn't use it in my car, but that's still a fairly rigorous spec and some here prefer it due to the higher content of zinc. My father uses it in his older, beater lawnmower...

And non-detergent oil is made for older equipment that may have significant deposits that could be soaked up by more modern detergent oils, not for cars. I don't know if that makes them "bad." It might just make the people that would use them in any passenger car ignorant...

If the answer is "no" then what are we all doing here LOL

If you mean "is there a bad SL/SM/SN rated oil" then the answer would be NO. The PQIA website shows some bad oils, but they are not API rated oils.
