what kind of loading would 40,000 miles a year and 95% easily all highway be on a half ton truck? an estimate is fine as i know ther isnt a book to go look up the hard facts in

You're right, tx ...there's no chart to reference...but I try not to talk out of my behind on such matters. I usually qualify everything very carefully.

Sorry, tx. I misread your post. If you're doing 40k a year ..then I'd start with 6 months on both a good synthetic and a premium filter. Naturally a UOA would be involved starting @ 10k (easily done if there are no fuel, coolant, or air filtration issues).
