After reading Eric Peterman's post on dropping the pan he sent me the instructions on how he did it. I just go the pan removed last night and inspected it. Half way through the process (2 hrs) I started to second guess my 'learned' theory that the pump clogged by sludge and "turbo tirds." Then, during the process I removed the down pipe from what appeared to come from the turbo and opened an somewhat nice sized hole to peek into the oil pan. I used a small flashlight and twisted my body to peek through the hold to find the side of the oil pan splattered with "gunk." Although, the hole showed only a part of one wall of the oil pan, yet bigger than the oil plug hole, I gained more confidence in the theory. This may be help full for anyone questioning their oil pan.....if so, next time you change the oil remove oil downpipe and take a look. I'll post the results of the whole procedure when I get her back together!
