Got into an accident.

Sorry to hear that. I guess this is another case of "failing to stay in lane". At least the guy owned up to it.

There's an intersection not far from my office which has been configured like that for about ten years and the morons still ignore all signage and got straight through. I'm thinking of buying a magnetic business card dispenser to set up there which activates at the sound of cars colliding and blows out a dozen or so at the sound.

Very true. This may sound like PI game playing but if there is ANY question of an injury, that the rescue wagon to the ER. Necks and backs can get bleeped up bigtime in a small impact.

you are lucky you did not turn into hamburger. that mustang is a tough car.

I'm fine. The hit felt relatively small. My work does not have a body shop.

What sucks in all of this is I had Thursday and Friday off from work, I like taking the car out for long drives on my days off. Not as much enjoyment taking an Impala out.

I wish you best of luck.

I personally have had bad luck with body work not immediately but 5-6 years down the road.

Glad you are okay and just the car got the damage.

Just got the call from the body shop. Initial estimate is around $74XX. They are replacing the right door shell, which my work had in stock, and the right quarter panel to start. They estimate I will get the car back by 24 June, but hopefully sooner.

Totally unrelated, the radio screen on the Impala kept blacking out when driving so I might take that back.

I'm sorry to see the damage, but glad it sounds like you are ok.

Also glad to hear someone would order a manual SS. That is a car I would love to have that most people don't know exists.

California drivers. Scary.

Am just glad that nobody got hurt or killed.

Street signs/directions in California are very bad. It is fairly confusing to interpret what it's mean.

If you are not familiar with the area and rely on the signs to navigate you will be lost or at least got wrong direction for few miles.

Sorry to hear about your car. That is a nice looking Mustang but I'm kind of partial since my 14 Mustang is that same color. I'm sure they will fix it good as new.

My insurance called and waived my deductible since the accident was not my fault. I told the person that I was interested in seeking diminished value since a door shell and 1/4 panel are fairly substantial repairs, even if done perfectly. She said that she will make the other party's insurance aware of it. I plan on getting trade in values from my work for the vehicle before and after the accident if they need proof of lost value.

I was sore this morning, but I have been having back pain all week. Long story, but my computer at work died and I have been bringing in my Alienware M18x everyday while they figure out how to convince the owner's wife that their top producing person at the dealer dollar wise needs a new computer.

@bdcardinal:

Don't wait...I would go to a specialist for such possible back and neck injuries and have them check you out just to be sure, that way if they find any possible related injuries your insurance can put in claims against the offending party.

So funny enough, the local city government's Facebook page posted this picture touting their new accomplishment. This was taken from the right turn lane that the truck was in. Notice the hash marks indicating to stay in that lane. I was in the lane to the left and carrying the turn wide so I could blast down the onramp.

Is that what it means? Counterintuitive. First impression to me means no right turn.

That's going to cause a lot of problems.

I'm sorry to hear about the accident, but glad that no one was seriously injured.

It's encouraging that the other driver is taking responsibility for his mistake. That seems to be increasingly rare these days.
