@ JeffJeffreMcJef:

German Homepage states:

"....Leichtlaufmotorenöl auf HC-Synthese-Technologie ... "

HC, Group III.

ROWE really makes good oils. Each UOAs from ROWE in the german Oil forum https://oil-club.de/ looks very good.

ROWE and Liqui Moly are the best german brands.

Rowe seems to be good on my car, but this comes in 35 to 40 euros depending on season.

"HC synthesis technology-based" only means it contains some Group III base stock. The remainder is not specified.

Looking through their other oils it appears you can have anything you want to call it:
Quote
HC synthesis technology-based
Semi-synthetic
Premium part-synthetic
Fully synthetic
based on HC-synthetic technology
Mineral oil-based
HC synthesis-based
Partly synthetic

We go through the same thing every few months. I'm the first guy to gripe about how the definition of synthetic changed. I don't have to rewrite history to be annoyed, though.

More than 50%.

Like it or not,the N.A.D (National Advertising Division) has designated all Group III, and IV base oils to be fully synthetic.
