That’s not a good deal for only 6000 miles… A basic Premium Guard or RA Champ could have done 6K easily for a fraction of the cost ($12.49 at AAP vs. $3-4).
out/off: 8 quarts Pennzoil Ultra Platnium 5w-20 with Fram Titanium FS10575
in/on: 8 Quarts Valvoline EP HM 5w-20 and carquest premium 84502 (made in china nitrile O ring)
tons of waviness and very dirty but no tears. this was from the first OCI since obtaining the truck from another fleet program. safe to say the PUP cleaned well.
Not impressed with that filter. Isn’t that supposed to be top of the line? What causes filters to get wavy and separate like that…..filling up with dirt?

Moisture, lack of support for a "synthetic" sprayed-on layer... The newer LS engines have the stronger, variable PSI oil pump, and having baseplate holes that (allegedly) induce swirling can't be helpful either...

this came off of a ford 5.0. and our trucks don’t see short trips.
also there aren’t “new” ls motors. they are gen V LT motors. all direct injected with variable displacement oil pumps that flow a massive volume when compared to non DOD ls motors of the past.
