I thought I knew what I was doing before I started to read all of these posts. But what do you think?!?!

I've got a 2002 Chevy Impala 3.4L with 72,000 miles on the clock. Currently using Pur Prem Plus L10111 and Mobil 1 5w30 at 8,000 mile OCI.

I have no complaint so far, but I've never performed a UOA. Thinking about it this time round though.

Is there a "best" filter opition for me? My miles are 80% highway. Much of which is 100+ miles at a time.

Should I be using an oversized filter? If so, which one?

I will own this car til the wheels fall off, if that helps in the decision, I don't know.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

I'd try the Purolator Pure One or a Wix. Not sure if there is an oversize filter for your car or not. If you check just make sure the specs are the same for the two filters.

Premium plus is a great filter and should work well for you. Cut it apart after an OCI and check to make sure the ADBV has not hardened. If it is I'd step up to a Pure one.
