I will be helping my friend Debbie service her drop dead gorgeous i8, which is a turbo 3 cylinder hybrid.
I don't know much about modern European engines; I believe BMW spec's a Castrol 5w30 for this car.

Any recommendation would be great as this is a $165K vehicle... Hopefully my low profile trolley jacks will work; otherwise I may nail together some boards to get it up a little.

What filter or do I just hit up the dealership parts dept?

I appreciate your thoughts. Here she is... Yup. Sexy as ... ; everyone loves it and asks about it every time I've been in it.

I downloaded a PDF for a 2019 i8 and found this on page 234:

These are both high TBN formulations intended for extended drain intervals.

LL-14 FE+ calls for HTHS 2.6 or greater, usually found in xW-20.
LL-01 FE calls for HTHS 3.0 or greater, found in most xW-30.

Specific mention of the 0W-30 as the "only" viscosity grade seems to contradict the LL-14 FE+ spec, but I suspect that the "more information from a dealer" would include more climate and usage specific recommendations. 0W-20 is probably suggested in colder climates or short trip use where the engine isn't likely to hit operating temp as quickly or as often. 5W-20, 5W-30 and 10W-30 is probably fine for most milder and warmer climates. Along the California coast I would expect any of these viscosities to work fine.
