Engine Noise differences with different oils

Delo has been my "quiet that engine" oil for a long time. But I also have had very good luck with Delvac. Rotella seems a tad bit noisier. But nothing like M1.

I agree with the OP, M1 is a racket maker in anything I have tried it in. Since I like silky smooth quiet motors. I'll always quit using an oil that amplifies engine rattles. I've tried M1 in various situations thinking I'd find a place where I could like it... Nada

My GDI engines might be quieter with truck oil - but folks need to understand not everyone posting here is talking about the engines prone to have intake deposit issues ...

I have been back and forth between OEM spec PP & M1 - none of mine are noisy on either ...

No GDI is any of my vehicles... So the issue does not arise for me
