We did a day trip today. Didn't get to see everything as the area is huge. Probably take a full week to see everything. I made sure to gas up at every opportunity so we had less of a chance of being a statistic. Had to add the obligerltory California fuel price.

Why is gas anywhere in CA more expensive than Hawaii?
$4.29 for Plus these days at the lower-priced gas stations in Marin. Away from infrastructure prices go up sharply, for example in small coastal towns that are an hour away from a 101. Also, putting in new potholes takes a lot of manpower and money.
Some of these pictures look like the Mars landing or scenes from the Star Wars movie
from the 70s.Probably taxes and emission requirements.

Great guesses! Some of star wars was filmed In death valley. Also several twilight zones from the 60's. There is also some people that think the moon landing was faked and filmed in death valley.Some of these pictures look like the Mars landing or scenes from the Star Wars movie

Not sure it is, but this is Death Valley and it's over $2 higher than the rest of CA:
Yes! I'm going to assume we were in one of the higher milage cars in the area. Most people seem to be tourists in newer cars. We are about to turn 210k. The fj runs great and still amazes me. It is beginning to consume a slight amount of 5w-30 though. Looks like about a qt in 6k.
Gas in my area is right around $5 for regular.
