Basically looks like a water jet to cut open the lithium ion battery and then shoot cold water to lower the temperature.

I work with a guy who's also a firefighter for a small town.

He says his department hasn't had to deal with any EV fires yet, but their department just purchased a large fire blanket for this purpose.

Apparently it's supposed to work pretty good if they can get the thing draped over the car before the fire is too out of control.

He says spraying it with a normal fire hose is a loosing battle that you aren't going to win. Especially if the water has to come from a tanker truck.
