Some of the trends that I have seen:
FoMoCo Blend was held high for a while.
MMO is God's drool.
GC in all it's greeny goodness..
PYB is still going strong?
Purolator was awesome and now, not so much..
OCOD Fram's, now not so bad..
As long as your car doesn't turn into a black hole consuming life as we know it, the oil you are using is fine..
Someone baked their oil in the kitchen oven and stunk up the house..
Fell free to add..
Thank you!

You got the brief and intense fascination with AutoRX. :p

Trolls taking mindless potshots at things they don't like for no actual reasons nor with any proof...

"why does it matter?"

"your car won't know the difference"

"all oil is good these days"

"conventional is more than sufficient"

"your engine will outlast the rest of the vehicle anyway"

"you're wasting your money"

"it doesn't matter"

"who cares?"

"synthetic isn't really synthetic"

And a million other pessimistic, condescending, off topic remarks.

It's never too late! Get some today.

I think LubeLuke is right about Mobil supplying the base stock for almost all makers of synthetic oil at one time. I started using Mobil I about 1978.

I was going to post the same thing. Auto RX this, Auto RX that etc, etc.
We've been members a long time.

I joined to get a recommendation for a supercharged(added, not factory) Marauder I'd just purchased... The M1 0W-40 was recommended as it has a 3.8 HTHS... Did very well for the time it was in my possession(sold 2.5 years later for a small profit)...

What I really remember is all the flack I took when I posted 5W-30 was my choice in my '07 Grand Marquis, everything from you're loosing gas mileage, to it'll blow up because of the tight tolerances... Tight tolerances??? Just parrots repeating what they'd heard on net and no doubt earlier posts... Tolerance has nothing to do with CLEARANCE which is the space between parts... Surprisingly no one said much about the Marauder that was also specked for 5W-20...

I remember one poster claimed his Grand Marquis felt like it was towing a 1500Lb trailer with 5W-30 vs the CAFE 5W-20(how FOS can one be?)... And just because the same engines in other countries were using heavier oils, I was [censored] the bed by using 5W-30.. I mostly let it go, five years later EVERYTHING in the daily fleet is still circulating 5W-30 without issue...
