Best ATF for Ford Ranger manual tranny

So my tranny has quaker state regular atf in. Nothing wrong with it..shifts just fine.
Warranty's up and it's due for a change.. I'm going with the Redline D4 4this time.


They were going to void a clutch warranty for using a synthetic transmission fluid?!?!

I just changed from Mobil1 w/ ~35k to Valvoline MerconV. It was a bit rough at first, but after about 200 miles, it's shifting as well as the truck did with the OEM fluid, better than the Mobil1 ever was and much better than the MTF.

Sorry for the confusing wording. Ranked best -> worst for each truck:

2000 Ranger:

MTL (Best)
OEM, Mobil1, Amsoil ATF (all 3 about the same)


2009 Ranger:

OEM & Valvoline (Best)
Mobil1
MTL (Worst)
