I train center mass and empty your magazine in him. While your "aiming" under a high stress fast moving target ....that target will close the gap between you and him in a fraction of a second and he probably will not be looking to "injure" you.
You need to be looking at pepper spray/tasers or other non lethal home defense weapons if your mindset is to injure and not kill to end a threat.
