OUCH!! I've expected to run into dogs, raccoons, cats, even mountain lions on my morning runs, but I'd never thought I'd be hit by an owl on my morning run! Crazy! I didn't hear a thing, first it felt like I got smacked in the back of the head, then a strong pulling sensation, like someone was pulling on my hair. It was so strong I thought it was a person doing it to me. I turned around to see a large bird flying back to a tree. It was 5:30am and pitch black, so I'm guessing it had to be an owl. I'm glad I was soaked in sweat and slippery, as all I got was some puncture holes on my head. I'm also glad it was not my shoulder or arm where he could have got a strong grip into the soft muscle. Wow, what a rush!!!
My wife was not amused when I popped in the bathroom with my head and back covered in blood!
