How sound is the old VW body? Rabbit, no?
Thanks for the insight on the PD oil. I didn't realize that it was like that. I was just afraid that these newer oil specs were going to tear up my car's cam based on what its doing to gas cars. I was thinking about 5W40 for it, too.
It is actually a 4 door Jetta. First year for the Mk II, as well. All things considered, it is in remarkably good shape, as these cars can get rather rusty. It has some surface rust here and there, plus some where the vapor barriers let water in the car behind the door cards, but I've got most of that neutralized. I ripped the interior out once I found that the carpet was mushy. I just need to get the interior back together, along with a new windshield, the motor finished up, and it'll be good to go. It was a pleasure to drive when I had it on the road before, but, it won't win any races, haha. My sister even made the comment that it sounded like a tractor. My response was at least my tractor is pretty fuel efficient.
