If the Sonata doesn't have a transfilter then adding a Magnifine is very cheap insurance. The sooner the better. Assuming it is still low miles then a filter would be my first move.



I think that's why Mercedes now says to change it at 30k miles than never again after that. Get all the break in stuff out of it and it will stay clean until a part fails.


Cool, I didnt know this. I just got a 140k Intrepid with one service done at 30k. Guess they know something I dont.
 
I have been contemplating buying a 6-speed AT Kia Sorento (which I presume uses Hyundai SP-IV fluid). The lack of a good aftermarket ATF equivalent to Hyundai SP-IV is disconcerting. If I had to pick a product from the current marketplace, I would probably use Dexron VI/MaxLife + Lubegard Black friction modifier. See
