2003 Mazda Protege timing belt replacement cost?

I like the good condition and relatively low mileage of the Protege. I looked at a few other cars earlier this week that were newer, but had higher mileage and didn't see anything I liked.
You did good. I got my kid a 99 camry that took 13 years to cover 23k miles, under the ownership of a lady born in 1937, LOL. These older cars are simpler and easier to work on, and their glitches are well documented.

The Protege is sold now...did @carviewsonic end up with it?
Hope so, he left a deposit!

Y'all let this man enjoy getting a nice car for his daughter, that she likes and won't resent having to drive. That's worth a lot in and of itself. He didn't spend your money on it! Let him have nice things! 😂

Looks like a great car, OP, may your daughter get many years and miles out of it! 🙂

If it's rust free, you did good. $6500 is about $4750 USD, and that's definitely "high" retail but for one of the last "real" Mazda's I think it was a fair price.

It looks like it's an LX 2.0 judging by the badge. Well done, the 2.0 is very spunky in that little car.
