I really appreciate all of the positive feedback but when I was looking at the car I wanted to offer $1800. Maybe it was just the horse trader lurking inside of me or maybe it was the fact that I just don't care for this type of car.

that is when you reply, "yep, she has no mortgage, no car payment, no medical bills(most likely), a guarantee'd income, and no use for the car anymore either."
BTW, a little junkyard searching can locate the SSEi springs, wheels, and sway bars. They won't make the car into a Lotus Elise. They will tighten up the handling very nicely, though.
