350 @25mpg vs 350h @40mpg At retirement 6k mi /yr for 15yrs = 90k mi. The 350 would cost me an additional 1350 gallons @$5/gal… or $6750. Still $3k cheaper than a replacement battery plus the upfront cost of buying a hybrid $2k.
The warranty is 10 years. I am expecting it will go beyond and the reason I said 12 years because an EFB is suppose to last 6yrs with the start/stop mechanism.
I asked the Lexus salesman about the future hybrid battery replacement costs. This is his response:
On the hybrid there are 2, the small one which is 4yr /50k if you had to replace about $600.
The main one which is 10 years /150K based on status would be anywhere from 5-10K after diagnosis...
There is no sludge on the new cars. I was trying to assure myself, that if 1) had an oc at 10k or 2) had an oc at 30k it would never come close to the video. The 2GR-xxx engine (Sienna and RX350) can deal with it.
I recommend R&P for the next 100k. Definitely car abuse. I have the same engine and everything in the upper engine oil block should be sparkly clean and not coated with varnish.

Dropping the oil pan is the easy part. Applying silicone RTV to the engine block with a perfect line is damm difficult. U really can’t apply RTV to the sump and push it towards on to the block. A gasket would be easier and do able. U don’t want excess amounts of silicone in ur oil pan pickup...
This is a positive sign and the negative sign is the lack of service documents. I have seen other CARFAXes that clear state oc by PepBoys, Valvoline and a local tire shop.
