Brand new alternator, still wont charge!

Edit: Battery voltage is now 13.36V and climbing. Looking at it, I see 3 wires coming out of the back alternator. I also see a frayed wire, I wrapped it loosely around the nut. The digital dash reads battery volts, but does NOT blink to indicate lack of alternator charge. The voltage DROPPED...

Why do some engines suck electrodes out of plugs?

Also.. DO I have a timing belt, timing chain, or "gear drive" on this thing? And how does an engine cause to "detonate?" What has to happen for that to occur... Debating how well this engine will hold up, in the long run. It appears to run better with that cylinder getting fire.

Why do some engines suck electrodes out of plugs?

I found an engine about 10 miles west of Leominster, MA. I just need to figure out if it is the right VIN. If you could get a used engine with low miles for $500, would you do it? Or, would you change the rest of the plugs on this one? It runs well NOW... The engine I found is from a 1994 it...

Why do some engines suck electrodes out of plugs?

Ok. By now, surely everyone has seen the plug this guy took out of the GMC today. Here is that plug, best shot. Now, I know there was an explanation ventured in the other thread, but what all scenarios could yield the result of this blackened, no fire plug that effectively left me dealing...

    2014 CTS photos.

The front: Reminds me of the Mercedes SLS. The back: The S-class. I guess Mercedes's distinctive look.. is no more? As to the car, I am DEFINITELY going to the NAIAS in NYC next week! Going in on the bus.

More on Why DHS Ammo Buying

I feel there is an agenda with the ammo buying. These agencies are not stupid. They need it to be known how anti-gun the leaders and admin of this country, even if not the citizens of it, are prepared to go. It is one thing to stockpile, but, to go to war? Against whom?

    Using Cascade to flush.

I just bought some CLR. Was hoping it would flow through the heater core, which doesn't blow hot. Was not going to leave it in there for very long, just one hot/cold cycle. Take off the kid gloves, it seems. I saw a citrus product at Autozone but I hear they take awhile to achieve results...

Thoughts on Castrol 5W-40 now that 0W-40 is out?

More specifically: I see Castrol 5W-40 on Amazon.con for about $48, and their 0W-30 for $46.19. They now have the 0W-40. I suspect I want a slightly more cushiony oil in my van, as the lifter is making a typewriter sound. Which of these two Castrols would you choose ,should I be so inclined?
