Nothing wrong with a 250. They're not just starter bikes. They're actually very functional and fuel efficient at the same time. Ride it and don't worry about it.
There is a guy I work with that rides a Honda 50cc scooter daily. Literally. It has over 20,000 miles on it and the little engine has...
T6 or T 5w40 is about the same. The additive pack changed slightly when they switched to T6, but not enough to loose any sleep over. Great oil and I see no reason not to use it in a CRF250R. Cheaper than the Honda HP4 and probably a tougher oil too...
Honestly though , in that thing you could...
With your location, i'd run Rotella T 15w40 or T6 5w40 in the Summer and Rotella 10w30 in cooler weather. Can't go wrong with either oil there. Of course Ron's Goldwing is liquid cooled, so different critter there.
But then - a 5w40 is only a 5 when the oil is cold (flows easy). It's still a 40...

Yes, but it's getting worse over the years and more water is coming out than back then. I was there, I...
It's simple guys. Water and Oil don't mix. Soap lets the two liquids mix. The more detergent they add the more water and gunk they can leave in the mix (stuff that should be byproducts) and cheat us even more.
Ever wonder why we have so much water dripping from tailpipes these days? Believe me...
Thanks all for the replies.
Nothing fancy but running an '02 Cavalier Convertible and have a couple of those darn fangled 50cc scooters. One is an old 2-stroker and the other is an '09 Honda Met. I use these just for fun and saving a little gas.
Oil use? I use Mobil 1 5w30 in the Cavalier and...
I start up and run my little HF 2-stroker once every 3 or 4 months. I don't always put a load on it but occasionally I'll plug in a 200-watt drop light just to give it a load. About 30-min. of running then I shut off fuel supply to the carb and let it run dry.
No problems with it over the last...

That's what i'm afraid of! And agree the above stated point ' Nothing in my water but water!'
Hello All. My name is Don and just joined yesterday evening. I'm in the engineering (mostly R&D) field and have been tinkering with Honda small engines for years.
I actually found this board and about a month ago and after a few weeks of reading, had to join in.
I'm also an MMO user, so go...
