If it's a stationary installation, then I would install another, less fine (and less expensive) filter upstream. You have the room/liberty to install bigger things in a stationary installation that you may not have in a mobile installation. Given the size, if this is a mobile installation, then I highly recommend a spare (preferably in a sealed shrink wrap) as standard spare parts.


Most fuel filters that I see of this level of filtration are listed as "secondary" ..where a 10um filter is upstream of it. The price seems "fair" from an ROI standpoint for a stocked vendor item.
 
It will be a stationary unit. I was thinking a 10 micron filter then this filter. I want the best filtration to save my injector pump.
 
Okay ...that would make sense. I installed a dual filter setup on my heating oil tank. You can put dual WIX 33281 10um nominal filters on a Permacool 3/4-16 mount. I imagine a single setup would work just as well.
