First post here. Grateful for the overwhelming info and depth of knowledge! I have lurked a while and thought I'd join, contribute & ask questions. Did two changes since Saturday:

1972 BMW 2002 Unknown mileage
Out: Castrol GTX 20w50, Mahle OC25 filter
In: Valvoline VR1 20w50, Napa Gold (Mann/Hummel) 1374

2011 Toyota Highlander v6 99,985mi
Out: Toyota OEM 0w20 synthetic, OEM filter
In: Napa 0w20 synthetic, Napa Gold/Wix filter

The oil in the 2002 was old but low mileage. I need to adjust the valves soon.

The Highlander has had a diet of only OEM oil aside from one M1 change a while back. Having discovered the value of Napa synthetic oil, I thought I'd try it out this time.

I literally LOL'd when I saw this! Called it!. . . anyway, I would have done the same thing. Will you use that VIOC again? Did you contact management? They owe you an oil change IMO.

I probably will. They told me the next one is on them. First issue ever. The problem is I use them so infrequently to begin with because I like and do, most of my oil changes anyway. I just chaulk it up to "lesson learned". And.....you did call it. ...† LOL

Out
Penzoil ultra syn 5w 20, purolator filter
In
Shell gas truck 5w 20 and Fram ultra filter.

2007 Acura TSX; 94K; 20% on reminder; maybe 5K to 6K mile OCI

Out: 4 quarts of Valvoline Synthetic HM 5w30 and Fram XG7317 filter (2 OCI)
In: 5 quarts Valvoline Synthetic 5w30 and M1 110A filter

This car has half the miles of our 2006 TSX.
Our car does not burn a drop.
The 2007 burned at least a quart over the OCI.
I think this is the difference between M1 from the start vs Quickie Lubes.

Just my experience.

1989 GMC 20k on crate engine, 81k on the rest of it.
Out; Advanced 5w30/wix
In: Advnaced 5w30/TG
Only 600 miles on in last 6 months, reeked of fuel, going forward will be annual OC's provided it doesn't reek of fuel come November.

2008 Buick Lucerne 84k
Out: Advanced 5w30/Gold
In: Advanced 5w30/TG
2400 on this annual change.

The 2006 Tb in my signature. 250,000on the odo and 25,000 on the oil.
Out was QSUD 5w30 and fram ultra.
In was the same.

I think the QSUD is one of the thicker 30's and I was hoping it would allow the oil usage when my change index goes beyond 20k. After that she begins to sip on the oil. Wondering if it shears a bit, allowing it to consume some....

I think the OLM comes on around the 20k mark so 5k more is not to much in reality. I had pulled out the vvt oil control solenoid for inspection at one point and she was nice and clean, no sludge. I think I will bring her back down to the 20k mark this next go around.

2018 Ram 1500 3.6 pentastar 48K miles. 5700 on old fill. Used 0w20 M1 extended performance. Stock mopar canister filter mo-349
