The prepping community has a LOT of discussion about this. Generally speaking, a metal box/can which fully encloses the idea you are trying to protect will be most effective. Don't forget to seal the joints/seams (solder or metallic tape).

Doesn't matter. The alien mind controller beams will just switch to IR or Ultrasonic. There is no hiding possible.

I made one out of heavy duty HVAC aluminum tape. Works GOOD. With a sleeve around my key fob my car will not start or open any doors.
