It's made by VM Motori in Cento (near Ferrara) Italy. This company was purchased by FIAT years back (can't remember when) VM Motori enjoyed an excellent reputation in Europe or at least it did before the FIAT purchase, but there is no reason to think that things changed as the management remained the same s far as I know.
