Hi Guys,

Ordered new belt for E90 but not sure if it's ok to use... there is visible thread at some points please see pic

Update looks like this actually normal on that specific belt smile

Looks fine; as long as the contact surfaces aren't showing cord you are good to go.

These are made by wrapping cord around a large barrel-like object of the correct diameter. The rubber is applied like a tire and cured. When done, the whole wide belt (maybe 3-4 feet wide) is slid off and then cut to the correct widths to make the belts. That is why you see the cord.

What matters? Quality and strength of the cord itself; composition, application and curing of the rubber.

V Belts have looked like that all my life. Put it on and drive with surety. No problems.
