just bought a Fram FR10-1 coolant filter. but its not here yet. my Q is. are the filters element hard to find. my guess is the pt no FR10-1 is housing W/ element. and the element alone is some vereation on that no. of course ill have to wait till the weather gets better be for i can get it put in. temp is 35 F

FR10-1 is the kit and FR10 looks to be the replacement filter.
Doesn't appear to be made by fram anymore or any direct cross reference.

However spin on coolant filters are available and you'll just have to find one that matches the thread size and gasket size for the head.

Looks like itís no longer made...

A better buy would be WIX Filters - 24019 Heavy Duty Filter Mounting Base, Pack of 1 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000CSINYU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_6sfKAb5DG2G1K

Filter is 24070 for the large, 24069 for the small coolant filter
Stay away from the 24071-24075, they contain additives...

Also can be found at Napa...

OK thanks for that great info. i bought 2 of them. it appears the org anal kit had clamps , Y fittings. and a bracket. i was even thinking about using one in my 01 dakota. but if new element are not av able i might try to get one that mattwithcats listed.
