Polaris ATV anti freeze question??

Most if not all MC coolants don't have Silicates. Standard green coolant will have Silicates.

IMO the Silicates wear out the WP seal thing is way overblown. My 1990 KLR250 has had Silicated coolant since it was new as has my 02 Jeep with 125k on the original pump.

I can't speak for the current year models, but I've got a 2002 Sportsman 700 that has seen nothing but the regular green stuff since its first change in 2003. Once I noticed that some muddy creek water had found its way into the overflow bottle vent, I figured worrying about silicates was a moot point.

My 06 Sportsman 500 (and son's 07 KingQuad) get changed out annually with the regular green stuff. All is good. 47HO, the way to avoid mud in the overflow bottle is to drill out that vent hole a little, install tubing and run that tubing up high, such as into the pod.
