Have come to the conclusion that your just a number at manufacturing employers in this day & age. Years ago Companys & management would try & look out for you if you showed up daily, followed orders & worked safely on a daily basis. Now its just about the dollar & pushing the product out the door ASAP. I got terminated on this past Friday for having three group one write ups in one year. Group one write ups are making scrap. I was 1/8 of an inch off a 9 feet ramp from being square. I was a welder/assembler & my first write ups were a month into my new employment in January of 2017. I would have had one write off come off January 5, 2018 as which -- you drop a write off every calendar date. I have a baby on the way & a mortgage to pay -- I expressed that to my Supervisor & plant manager & they turned there heads as they walked me out the door. I take responsibility for my mistake but dont these employers/management have a conscious anymore??? They M.H. EBY throw a plethora of scrap away on a daily basis & this could have been handled differently I truly feel. Same thing happened to a guy who works next to me three weeks ago with him scraping a ramp -- he never got wrote up & it was sweeped under the rug. Is it because his Dad also works there & has 25 plus years in there? The company I worked for has alittle over 200 employees & is slow right now this time of year also. JUST A NUMBER!!!
