Your filter choice????

Knecht "Mahle filter" for the Benz, Wix 51036 for the Safari cargo van and a FL400s fo the Ford Escort. My Ducati and BMW motorcycles get factory filters.

I used to use Luberfiner for yrs on over the road
trucks. I'm using Mobil 1 on my ole 92 Slonoma.
I might try Luberfiner on it. They're a Champion
Labs product now. Never had one driver ever
say he lost an engine because the LB filters failed.

I've done maybe 1,000 + services on big trucks
using Luberfiner as well as Baldwin.

Filter choices are not an easy task in Canada. Orange is on every auto supply shelf. You can find K&N at a price but it seems like they don't do the best job at filtering. Mobil 1 and Bosch are unheard of. Yes, we have NAPA Gold but they seem a little expenses too. I went to a distributor that sold Baldwin and finally got my filters after waiting two weeks for my order. They seem like a good choice, but two weeks was a pain. I wonder why filter manufacturers like Mobile, Bosch and Purolator don't sell their stuff in Canada. I mean there are some 30 million of us up in the Far North and we don't all get around with dogsleds. So, what are the best oil filter options for us Canadians.

I have mentioned this before, but I see no economic reason why Canada shouldn't have the same selection and prices as the US does, unless there are legal restrictions. Perhaps you need ask Ottawa, not BITOG about that.

Are you saying there are inter-government trade issues that limit the distribution of oil filters. I've heard of trade disputes involving softwood lumber and cattle, but oil filters?

I try to use PureONe , Mobil 1, Mann [ for the BMW] , Fram Tough Gard or X2,Purolator Premium Plus on my VW , Mercedes, and BMW engines that had a cartridge or Subaru OEM.

I have also used cheap Frams at 3K intervals for 30 years on lots of VW's and BMW's without any problem, my 400K BMW motor probably ran Fram PH2870A filters 50% of the time...and that motor is still in great shape and has only had tune-ups, water pumps and timing belts.

I could also run Super Tech, Purolator Premium Plus, Carquest, Napa Gold or Silver, Wix, Champion, Bosch, or any number of other good name brands and not worry.

I am also interested in Amsoil's new Donaldson filter.

I think most name brand oil filters are good enough, even though I try to buy the best filter I can.

For 10,000 mile OCI's I'm likely to change the oil filter at 5000 miles...so I don't worry.

I left out Motorcraft, AC Delco, and Fleetgard.

I used a lot of Motorcraft on Ford turbo diesels, and I like Motorcraft filters in general.

I also used a lot of Fleetgard on equipment, like front loaders and Bobcats.

Now I'd look at Donaldson.

Just returned my two 3 packs of orange Frams that I got on clearance from **'s. Got a good deal on them too as they were on clearance for $5 for each 3 pack. I was using Frams on my daughter's Saturn and my Toyota pickup. I used an orange Fram on my new Vibe for it's first oil change (before I knew any better) but in another 2 thousand miles it'll be off.

From what I've been reading here and elsewhere, I'll never use another orange Fram. Went to Pep Boys and picked up some Purolator Premiums on sale 2/$5.00. That's what I'll most likely use from now on.

Fram this!!

The S10 gets the AC Ultraguard series filter, has been from day one.
The Sunfire gets AC PF47 old style. When the ecores came out every time I went into a Wal-Mart I grabbed an old style filter. I ended up with 9 in my stash.

The Camaro I'm all over the map with on filters. It's had AC Delco, Wix, Quaker State, and next up I have a Purolator waiting for it.

2 vehicles get Purolator filters
1 vehicle gets OEM (Hyundai) filter because its good & still under warranty.
Harley gets Harley filter

Holy revived thread, Batman!

I have used a lot of filters, whatever suits my fancy. I have used Fram OCOD's, Tough Gards, Toyota original equipment, Bosch Distance+, and the like.
