their old commercials from the early 90's/ 80's were really cool and classy. Their new stuff is insulting.

They perform to what they perceive is the intellectual/cerebral mean/capability of their target audience.

Have you really thought about what Spike-TV produces? It's kinda entertaining, but the price you pay in watching is kinda high.

Castrol's advertising actually puts me off their products.

I stick to brands like Mobil 1 and Fuchs for synthetics, and Motorcraft or Pennzoil for Group II/III based oils. When I was at the store last week, some guy came up and decided to 'lecture' me on motor oil. He was commenting on how the bottle of Fuchs Titan SuperSyn 5w30 I bought was an 'oil', and how Castrol was a 'lubricant' because it 'got to the top of the engine quicker'. I just wished him good luck on his GTX 20W-50 getting to the 'top of his engine quicker' than my Group IV Fuchs 5w30 full synthetic in winter.

I don't think the IQ reduction in watching Spike is a permanent condition. It feels good at the time though.

I sure don't!

That commercial alone is enough to keep me from buying any Castrol products.

Too much violence on television now days anyway and then having this guy go around swatting people with a metal dipstick? Ouch and more ouch!

Castrol advertising is the absolute worst.

I prefer Mobil and Redline's approach.
