PP does very well in the cold.

That it does. I had it as winter fill a couple of years ago and it did fine...

That wouldn't put me off, I'm sure the 1140 ppm of Phos' is part of the reason. It's price of 28 bucks a gallon would give me pause as it's a bit dear for a GP III oil.

I am being "told" on page 1 of this thread, that 5w20 conv is NOT thinner than synthetic 5w30:
here is MY proof
Pennzoil 5w20 conventional MRV -35 is 12,400
Valvoline 5w30 synthetic MRV -35 is 18,600

someone keeps trying to "correct" me by posting bogus mis printed numbers.

all the reliable numbers that i see, show conventional 5w20 has MUCH better cold numbers than synthetic group 3 5w30.

my recommendation, for a really superior oil in cold weather, is to mix 50:50 conventional 5w20 with synthetic 5w30.

I thought so too. I used it this winter in my Saturn and it cranked over great every day.

You can see those high Zinc and Phosphorus levels in the PDS, I would prefer to have them personally.

Ouch, ok, if I could get it for $23 or so for a gallon jug I would be running it.

How cold? Depends. Winter temps can vary. Canada is the second largest country behind Russia in area. You can have temps identical to Detroit (Windsor) to winter lows of -55F and colder in the arctic regions. -45 F for days or weeks isn't uncommon in the Edmonton area.
