My son's 08 Malibu factory lug nuts need replacing as the chrome caps have been distorted/warped and some are actually missing.

Also, since he was just gifted some Saab rims with winter tires, will he need different ones for that application? He plans on switching his new Saab rims with his summer tires so chrome/polished ones will be what he wants for those rims.

The factory wheels, since they will be used as winter rims now only need to be black or nothing special.
I did a quick search and found some old posts and quite a few mentioned to just get them at Costco. Anyone know if that still holds true? I also searched CDN Tire but none of theirs fit according to their "fitment" info.

Thanks.

I bought one lug nut for my Impala at Napa and while it looked good it was fairly expensive. Looked on ebay and found a whole set of OEM for about the price of 2.

I just replaced mine. Ford F-150. Bought the gorilla brand (kind of pricey) on E-bay and they are the SOLID ones. Mine old ones were the two piece design with that outer shell. About all of them were distorted and different sizes from warping or whatever the heck that crazy design does.

I've gotten complete sets on ebay for around $10.

The saab rims on my HHR used normal GM lug nuts with the taper face.

I replaced mine on my F-150 at Pep Boy's. They had the biggest selection. Just make sure you purchase the correct one's with the exact same seat. Several look alike, but are different. (The tapered seat varies). If you use the wrong one's with Aluminum wheels they can become loose.

I bought some light nuts off Costco this Spring. Full set was $16.

You can try calling Costco for black steelies rims. When I was looking for rims for my Caravan, I checked Kijiji. Bought them off a place called Joy city tires in Markham. That was back in 2015.

You might want to check Taunton tire up at Townline and Taunton.

Thanks, JC1 and everyone else.

Good call on Taunton Tire, JC1. I never thought of them for some reason but they will more than likely have what I am looking for.

I replaced the factory tin covered lug nuts on my Jeep, I purchased chrome replacements from NAPA. These were one piece chromed, worked great. Been a few years, but I think I paid about 2.00 ea. If they have NAPA stores in Canada, might be worth looking into.

We do have Napa's here in Canada but I just checked and received this reply from their site " We found 0 exact fit products for your Chevrolet Malibu Showing all 60 "lugnuts" results in Not-Fitted/Universal Fit Parts"

Thanks for the tip.

I phoned out to Taunton Tire today and they want around $45 for one piece chrome lugs. I went to Costco just a short while ago and they want around .45 cents to .80 cents each but they need to have one in hand in order to sell me the proper ones.

While I was there I forgot to ask if they were the one piece style or the capped style? Guess I'll have to make a return trip tonight when my son gets home with his car but if they have some and enough, that is who I will likely go with?

I just got back from picking up 40 lug nuts for my son's Malibu from Costco. His current ones are toast so I replaced all those and have now have a backup set for him to strictly use in the summer.

All in, the 40 cost me $24 dollars and change and I was out the door at $28 and change. These are the one piece chrome lugs, no caps to get distorted or break entirely off.

As I was replacing the stockers, 2 out of the 5 that had no caps any longer got wedged in my 19mm socket. Doing this at home instead of on the shoulder of some hwy or road somewhere was nice as I could easily get a long drift punch and my hammer to get them out. I highly doubt anyone carries those or anything else like that to get these out with them.

What a crappy design! Like the guy at Costco said, it keeps GM's door revolving.

40 or 20?

I'll probably get some for my Jeep at Costco, thanks for the heads up.

$12 for 20, now that's a deal! I'm definitely picking some up.

Keep in mind, the prices vary from .45 cents to .80 cents each (up here) so your prices may be a little different (likely for the better?)

A pic of my son's stocker Malibu lug nuts. The new chrome one piece ones will eventually rust but at least they won't fall apart like his stockers did.
